the john f.k. presidential library in boston. a two-day rest stop for them in their final journey. with the now familiar military precision, they brought ted kennedy out there and the coffin into the library. a reminder, ted kennedy served in the u.s. military. many have never known that without the kennedy in the senate. >> it's a time and memory and just means a lot to them to your kennedy family and all that they have contributed to us. and to that country. >> we should all do something good in this country and not just stand back. they gathered at the family compound for a private mass overlooking the ocean, ted kennedy once loved to sale. and then the half dozen or so vehicles, began the long

slow 70 mile trip to boston. they went their way out there in their life. and that is where he announced their bid for the presidency in 1980. and the ceremony will be on saturday at articlington national cemetery. for the next two days, he will lie out there to propose that in boston massachusetts and people are already lining up to pay their final respects. they will actually extend the hours if there is call for more time for people to say good- bye. >> from what we have seen today, there will be. >> they now have an open senate seat for the first time in 25 years. now the questions are, how will it take for them to fill that seat and who will sit there? the current massachusetts law requires a special election out there, 145 days after they

become vacant. and they are asking them to appoint a temporary replacement sooner. he like i, we support the current law that provides for a special election about five months out after the vacancy returned. they made a request for them to appoint to someone who served for that five-month period until that special election occurs. and i think that it is reasonablable. >> he would sign a change in the law if the legislature approved it. he says that it was important for them to have two voices in the senate. that is something that they shared with all of them at the area for the church in articlington. and the kennedy's priest, 1975. while they were battling brain cancer, the father, he went to his home every sunday for a

schedule of what classes to attend. the cause is a computer meltdown. and today, the superintendent, he stepped up to apologize. digital correspondent is following the developments from them in temple hills, scott? stkwhrár this is a $4.1 million brand new computer system that is grounding themselves to a halt. today out here at the high school, the guidance hospitals are still facing 300 kids without schedules. we're working each one out there by them, 10 to 15 minutes per student at the time. and the good news is that even students with incomplete schedules are out there in temporary classes. a dramatic improvement county wide on monday with 8,000 showing up for no place to go. many held in gym and cafeterias. >> to have more than 8,000 high school students without a schedule on the first day. >> reporter: that superintendent

there was a rally in called for freedom and for all americans. martin luther king jr. lead an estimate of 3,000 participants to the lincoln memorial where he delivered his famous, "i have a dream speech." >> well in the town where martin luther king jr. was born on the street that was dedicated to him, you think the city would manage to spell his name right. guess again, they found a mistake years old and even the residence there didn't spot it. >> stake a closer look out there.

because for three straight weeks in a time they are suppose to be building confidence, they are butting heads with three of the best teams on the planet. they started remember, with the ravens who seemed to always have the best defense in football and they used it a couple of weekends ago to shut the redskins out. then, sure, the superbowl

champion steelers who the skins beat, but against whom the starting offense for the redskins still got them. no love there. now tomorrow, the patriots and a man named brady and, you know, an odd number year so they will win these super bowl. in a word for them at the schedule, i would say back-to-back-to-back-and then to back with the season opener. we're not as far along on offense as we would like to be going against these defenses, but it's helping us. not hindering us at all. we're gaining confidence. he lead them through that walk it had morning. then in the afternoon, lunch. the team's annual welcome home lunch, which used to make sense when they had training camp out there in carlisle. and now the training camp is at the same place they play all along. i'm not sure when. but still, the 2008 team awards were
